Pink Lady was a Japanese Pop Duo in the late 70s, early 80s comprised of two young women, Mie and Kei. They were huge pop idols when I lived in Okinawa. I remember hearing "Kiss in the Dark" (the song in the video below) non-stop for a while there!
Pink Lady is actually only one of two Japanese recording artists to have reached the US Billboard Top 40, hitting #37 on the charts with "Kiss in the Dark." In 1980, they ended up with a very short-lived television shown in America on NBC called Pink Lady. It was a variety type of show with musical numbers, comedy and skits. It did not do well and was canceled after only five episodes.
Enjoy this blast from the past!
This video is from Japanese television and has Japanese subtitles because Mie and Kei sang the song in English.
